DSLA StructureThe Dutch School Los Angeles is a non-profit public benefit corporation, governed by a board of directors. The corporation operates a number of school locations (currently three). Two locations, DSLA-Los Angeles and DSLA-Orange County, have a similar structure: they fall under direct governance of the Board of Directors, and the educational program in both locations is the responsibility of one Head of School. The Head of School is a non-voting, ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. The third location, Dutch School San Diego, has a slightly different structure, because of its geographical distance to the other locations. DSSD is overseen by a special committee assigned by the Board of Directors, that is responsible for the location's operations; DSSD furthermore has its own principal responsible for the educational program. The DSSD principal and DSLA-Head of Schools confer about matters concerning the educational programs in all schools. The corporate structure is shown in the diagram below. Specific school "bodies" will be discussed in the following chapters.
